Arsenic and Old Lace

WilleyWorld Community Production’s presents
Joseph Kesselring’s Arsenic and Old Lace

Walt Willey (All My Children’s “Jackson Montgomery”) returns to his hometown as WilleyWorld Community Production’s presents Joseph Kesselring’s Arsenic and Old Lace, with Julia Barr (All My Children’s “Brooke English”) and Kim “Howard” Johnson (ImprovOlympic) at the Ottawa High School auditorium.  This production marks their return to the Ottawa stage after last year’s successful run of The Odd Couple.

Walt Willey, native of Ottawa, Illinois and better known to some as “Jackson Montgomery” from the long-running hit daytime television show All My Children, will be starring in a production of Joseph Kesselring’s Arsenic and Old Lace, in the role of “Mortimer Brewster”.  This production is scheduled to open on Friday, July 23, will run on Saturday, July 24 and again on Sunday, July 25, 2010 in the OHS Auditorium.

Joining Mr. Willey is Kim “Howard” Johnson, noted Monty Pythondiarist and chronicler and improvisational actor.  Mr. Johnson will be playing the role of “Jonathan Brewster”.  In the role of “Abby Brewster” is Julia Barr, who has played the part of “Brooke English” on the ABC daytime drama All My Children for over thirty years.  Playing “Martha Brewster” will be Ottawa’s own Mary Fennessey Morgan.

Arsenic and Old Lace marks WilleyWorld Community Productions’ second annual effort in developing a self-sustaining theatre for the Ottawa community as well as a mentorship program for youths in the Ottawa area.

WilleyWorld Community Productions is proud to again be joining with the City of Ottawa, Illinois to launch Ottawa’s newly extended City of Ottawa Riverfest, which opens with Arsenic and Old Lace (July 23-July 25)  Riverrfest continues on Wednesday, July 28 and runs through August 1, 2010.

Mr. Willey and Mr. Johnson, along with local advisor and coordinator, Ms. Morgan, are pleased to once again be bringing theatre to Ottawa.  “The community support for and the success of last year’s “The Odd Couple” made it clear that there is a place for this kind of theatre in Ottawa,” commented Willey.  “The fusion of community and professional talents and resources made for a truly exciting experience and we can’t wait to do it again!”
